Accessibility Accommodations At Wilson College, accommodations and services are provided to students with documented disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The Accessibility Services Coordinator arranges accommodations for students with documented disabilities on a case-by-case basis. Disability is defined under the ADA or Section 504 as a person with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. Services and Accommodations Various services and accommodations are offered depending on the disability and an individual’s needs. Accommodations are not limited to academics and are also considered in residential living and campus spaces. Students must decide to self-disclose and request their accommodations by following the eligibility process. Students with disabilities must be able to perform the essential objectives of a program/course with or without reasonable accommodations. Reasonable accommodations are defined as approved modifications which do not fundamentally alter the nature of the program/course, including academic requirements in post-secondary education. An accommodation cannot lower the standards or change the objective of the program/course.
