The ESL Program Specialist Certificate Only program is an option for certified educators who wish to gain a Pennsylvania ESL certification in grades PK-12. Course requirements for ESL Certification Only program (Five courses)Upon completion of the ESL Certification Only program requirements, students will need to apply for the ESL Certification*. A fee is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Once the application is complete, students will inform the Director of Graduate Education Programs (eric.michael@wilson.edu). Wilson College will review that the student has completed all the requirements of the program, then will access the TIMS site and approve. Pennsylvania certification is reciprocal with most of the 50 states. Generally speaking, if you hold a valid PA professional teaching license from a regionally accredited and state-approved teacher preparation program and pass the required state testing, you will be able to obtain a teaching license in another state.
