Student Wellness

Healthy mental, physical and spiritual well-being are very important components of student success. The Wilson College offers many services to students who may need mind, body, and/ or spirit support. Made up of chaplaincy, counseling and nurse offices, our staff strives to nurture, support and empower the whole student.

College Nurse

The college nurse is available by appointment or walk-in for minor injuries and illnesses, blood pressure screenings, pamphlets and more. The nurse works with local medical providers to help connect students with additional care if needed. The nurse also provides a range of educational outreach to campus throughout the year.

The college nurse facilitates a vaccination clinic in the fall where students may receive Covid and Flu vaccinations, this is announced in advance of the date. If vaccines are needed at other times of the year the nurse is available to assist students in finding local resources. If an incoming student has a health form to submit, they should upload it on their student self-service account.

Counseling Office

The college counseling office is comprised of a full-time counselor, part-time counselor, two graduate counseling interns and a consulting psychiatrist. Counseling is provided free of charge to students and provides a confidential space to find support for a variety of issues. To speak with a counselor, students are encouraged to schedule an initial meeting by email or telephone. Crisis services and psychiatric appointments are also available. The counseling staff also provides a variety of educational outreach throughout the year.

College Chaplain

The college chaplain supports and encourages the spiritual growth and development of all members of the campus community in a manner that honors the diversity of religious beliefs present at Wilson College. Chaplain services includes a weekly Bible study, bi-weekly praise & worship time, prayer list, and yearly blessing of the animals for both students and staff. The chaplain also manages Sarah's Cupboard, the on-campus food pantry.

Fitness Center

A vital component of student wellness at Wilson College is the newly renovated Fitness Center, a recent project of the Wilson College Parents Council. Its central location on campus provides a warm, inviting place where students engage in physical activity, relax, and establish or build enduring healthy habits and practices. With access to a full range of equipment—including free weights, cable machines, and cardio options—students improve their physical strength while sharpening mental clarity and lifting their overall mood. Designed to help raise energy levels and promote confidence, the Fitness Center offers an inclusive environment that welcomes and supports students at every skill level.
