Admissions Procedures

  1. Consideration of an application for admission cannot be given until the Office of Admissions receives all of the required credentials described below.
  2. The International Student Application for Admissions must be filled out completely, accurately signed.
  3. Educational Documents:
    • Diplomas/Certificates: Copies should be enclosed with the application.  Students from countries following the British educational system should ask the examinations council to mail confidential results directly to Wilson College.
    • Transcript/Statements of Marks: A transcript should contain the following information: studies, marks (grades) awarded, and the grading scale with the minimum passing mark.
  4. English Translations:  Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by certified English translations.  Translations supplement but do not replace original documents. Please send all transcripts or mark sheets.
  5. Letters of recommendation are required.  The applicant should request the recommendations from faculty members familiar with the applicant's academic record.  The letters of recommendation should be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions.
  6. Examinations:
    • TOEFL/IELTS/STEP:  All international students whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) before an admissions decision is made.
    • SAT/ACT:  Students have the options of taking the SAT or ACT.  These examinations are helpful, but not required.

Deadlines

Because of the time requirement to complete processing of the application and for the student to make visa and financial arrangements, deadlines have been established after which applications cannot be processed.  The following schedule should be carefully noted in submitting an application for admissions.

Starting Date   Application Deadline
Fall Semester (August)   May 1
Spring Semester (January)   October 1
