The Academic Success Center can help write or revise papers, prepare for a test, provide free tutoring, review note-taking and time management skills, along with offering disability support services. Friendly Families/Host Homes This program allows international students to connect with a local host family. You do not live with this family; however, most Friendly Families invite students to family activities, holiday celebrations and outings. You will get to meet your Friendly Family shortly after your arrival at Wilson. We have a get-acquainted dinner and an end-of-year picnic. Plus, you and your family can meet often for fun! Health Insurance for International Population Wilson College does not sponsor or recommend a specific Health Insurance Company to our international students and scholars and their families. However, International Student Insurance and PGH Global www.pghstudent.com/wilson are companies that have expressed interest in selling policies to Wilson’s International population. You may choose to purchase your health insurance from either of these companies, or any other company of your choice, whether it be in your home country, or here in the United States. However, all students must be covered by a health insurance plan while enrolled at Wilson College. International Scholar Services (ISS) All international students can and should meet with ISS regularly. This office has information regarding everything from cultural adjustment, visa issues, roommate concerns, etc. Immigration questions should be directed to ISS. Muhibbah Club This student club strives to promote diversity and multiculturalism and build awareness and acceptance of other cultures and traditions. Resident Assistants (RA) Resident Assistants are students who live in the same dormitory with you. They are trained to help resolve roommate disputes, plan social events for your floor and give you advice! Shuttle Service As a service to its students, the Office of Student Development offers a low cost Friday night shopping shuttle as well as shuttle service options to airports, train stations, and bus stations.
