Associate Degree Accounting

A graduate of the Wilson College online Associate of Arts degree program in business management is prepared for a variety of business operations roles, from accounting and human resources to project and budget management.

If you are looking to move into a career in management or get ahead in your current job, here are the qualities you will gain to become an effective business manager:

  • Adaptable: Solve complex problems and have the confidence to be open and responsive to change.
  • Strategic: Think critically about managing toward the future while keeping an eye on the day-to-day.

  • Effective Communicator: One of the most important attributes of a good manager is the ability to communicate—with employees, outside vendors customers, and your own supervisors.

The Wilson College online program is interdisciplinary, with courses that work together to build a strong foundation for management in business and other settings.

 Learning Objectives

  • Apply management principles to the planning, organization, leadership and decision-making within a business.
  • Knowledge of relevant theories and the ability to apply them to a variety of employee issues and responsibilities in a contemporary business context.
  • Understanding of the steps of the accounting cycle and application of mathematical models to solve business related issues.
  • Identify and analyze the roles of internal and external factors on business decision-making processes.
  • Work prioritization and project management.
  • Recognition of workplace dynamics and ability to make recommendations that drive change.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply practice of effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Respond to ethical and moral issues as applied to the workplace.
