Assistant Professor of Graphic Design

(717) 264-4023

Adam DelMarcelle, M.F.A., is an assistant professor of graphic design. His prints and socially engaged art actions are created in Pennsylvania, on the front lines of the escalating overdose epidemic. His work aims to educate and mobilize community response, urging viewers to ask more critical questions of the world—particularly regarding their own roles within the systems contributing to the crisis. After losing his brother to an overdose, DelMarcelle dedicated his life to improving his community through his work as an educator and artist.

In 2020, he co-launched “Mariah,” a site-specific, augmented reality application that tells stories of historical injustice against the backdrop of significant cultural institutions and the financial systems that have enabled their existence. He is also the collector, curator, and steward of the traveling art collection “A Call to Question.”
DelMarcelle’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.; the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library at Yale University; Syracuse University; the Quillen College of Medicine Medical Library; and MASEREEL (formerly Frans Masereel Centrum) in Belgium, among others across the United States and Europe.

He holds a B.F.A. from the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. His work has received coverage in The Washington Post, Hyperallergic, The Huffington Post, and others. It has also been featured in numerous books on the history and practice of graphic design, including “Thinking Through Graphic Design History: Challenging the Canon” (Bloomsbury Press), “Attending [to] Futures: Matters of Politics in Design Education, Research & Practice” (adocs), “Designing Activism: 31 Designers Fighting for a Better World” (What Design Can Do), and more.

DelMarcelle lectures at colleges and universities in the United States and Europe. He has had the honor of speaking at institutions such as the Sorbonne in Paris, Syracuse University, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and many others, where he encourages students to consider the responsibility they carry toward humanity through their creative work.

Adam DelMarcelle lives in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, with his wife Missy, their son Joey, and their basset hound Edith.

(717) 264-6227

Bonnie Rock-McCutcheon, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of history and ancient world studies at Wilson College. She received her doctorate in ancient history from The Ohio State University in 2018. As a dedicated educator and scholar of the ancient Mediterranean, she participated in archaeological projects in Athens, the Corinthia, and Kythera, Greece, and has traveled extensively throughout Greece and Rome.

At Wilson College, Rock-McCutcheon channels her passion for the ancient and medieval worlds into the classroom, where she teaches a diverse range of courses in history, ancient world studies, and Latin. She is committed to creating immersive learning experiences, often experimenting with innovative pedagogical techniques such as Reacting to the Past simulations, graphic novels, and virtual reality applications to help students engage with the past in dynamic ways.

In addition to her teaching, Rock-McCutcheon is an active scholar. Her research explores the intersections of religion, power, and identity in the Greek Archaic Period, as well as innovative teaching methodologies. In January 2024, she presented on the use of Reacting to the Past in a panel discussion held during the American Historical Association’s annual meeting, titled “The Introductory History Survey: Seeing it the Way it Could Be.” Her recent publications include an article in Classical Outlook titled “Talking Back to Homer: Facilitating Student Connections with Ancient Texts,” which details her use of graphic novels in the classroom.

Her current research focuses on religious dedications on the sacred island of Delos during the Greek Archaic Period, examining them as expressions of social identity, spectacle, and power.

Tom Sarachan, M.F.A., J.D.
Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Contact via email

Tom Sarachan, M.F.A., J.D., is an assistant professor of computer science. He takes an applied approach to computer science and programming, inspired by his background as a game designer. Currently, his research focus is on incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into the classroom in ways that add to the student experience, rather than disconnecting students and their instructors.

Sarachan oversees the computer science and cybersecurity programs, providing academic leadership and continuity across both disciplines. Students in these programs will take several of his courses, including Programming I and II, Web Development, and Digital Ethics.

Prior to joining Wilson, Sarachan had a previous career as an attorney. While he no longer takes on private clients, his legal background informs his teaching about the ever-changing regulatory environment facing programmers and cybersecurity experts.

Sarachan holds a Master of Fine Arts in game design from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (now Penn Carey Law).
