Internship Gift Application Zina and Kayangel Atoll resident Kay Ann My internship involved assisting in the community island restoration project on the Palauan atoll of Kayangel. My duties included monitoring the success of a recent project dealing with the eradication of invasive rodents and feral cats, the establishment of protected areas, creating alternative job opportunities through the establishment of virgin coconut oil processing, establishing a monitoring and evaluation plan for the Kayangel atoll, and establishing biosecurity measures such as access to clean water for native species. - Zina Long '15 "My internship gave me a chance to experience the day-to-day operations of a small animal hospital and confirmed for me that a career as a veterinary technician is what I want to do, and in fact can do. I was very timid at first, but by the end of my internship I could feel that my confidence had grown dramatically and I’m now very excited to finish my final year at Wilson so I can work as a veterinary technician full time. I am extremely thankful to the Wilson College Alumnae Association for their financial support." - Sonja Hess '15 Glen Falls Animal Hospital, Glen Falls, NY "I applied so much of what I learned at Wilson to my daily work. It was reported to me at my evaluation that the hospital was not only happy I came but they offered me a full time supervisor position in December after graduation!" - Daniela Kenmure '14 Left - Wilson 2013 Yearbook; Right - Sayrebrook Veterinary Hospital, Sayreville, NJ "I really enjoyed my time at Faithful Friends Veterinary Care. The people there were all very friendly and really loved what they did and were trying to help animals. I learned so much during my time there. It really helped wrap everything I learned at Wilson together. Thank you once again for your gift as I completed my internship to complete my degree at Wilson College. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do!" - Daniele Riley '14 Faithful Friends Veterinary Care, Huntingdon, PA Alumni Relations Alumni Association Profile Update Giving to Wilson Wilson College Virtual Author Series Volunteer Opportunities Reunion Weekend Wilson Weekend Sesquicentennial Alumni Emporium Wilson Magazine Staff Relevant links ...
