Faculty spotlight: Philip Lindsey

Cooley Gallery is showing an exhibition of Philip Lindsey's work from his time on sabbatical. "Passages: New Work by Philip Lindsey" is on display through January 31. Philip is known on campus, not only for his art but for his positive attitude and enthusiasm for his students. He shares, "Helping students realize that they are capable of creating a work of art that demonstrates, not only incredible technical skill, but deep contextual content as well, is particularly rewarding. This happens every semester.

Celebrate the Arts at Wilson College During ArtsFest 2024

Celebrate the arts at Wilson College as it hosts the second annual ArtsFest from April 1-5. The theme for this year’s event is “Art is…Transformation,” which highlights how art transforms human experience. ArtsFest is a week-long event that includes theatre and dance performances, a fashion show, open mic readings, and visual arts workshops. One highlight of the week will be a UNITY project, which will allow members of the community to help create a structure of intertwined yarn that will represent their interconnectedness. All events are free and open to the public.

Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition to Open April 3

Wilson College will hold a reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Lortz Hall's Bogigian Gallery to mark the opening of the college's Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will continue through April 26.

The show, which provides a venue for Wilson students to share their work with the community, will feature drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, photographs and mixed-media artwork with a wide array of subject matter and content.
