Faculty spotlight: Philip Lindsey

Cooley Gallery is showing an exhibition of Philip Lindsey's work from his time on sabbatical. "Passages: New Work by Philip Lindsey" is on display through January 31. Philip is known on campus, not only for his art but for his positive attitude and enthusiasm for his students. He shares, "Helping students realize that they are capable of creating a work of art that demonstrates, not only incredible technical skill, but deep contextual content as well, is particularly rewarding. This happens every semester.

An Invitation to Participate in ArtsFest 2025 at Wilson College

Wilson College is pleased to announce its annual ArtsFest celebration will take place on campus the week of April 7-11, 2025. The theme for ArtsFest 2025 will be “ART IS...SHARED STORIES.”  

The College’s ArtsFest Committee is seeking artists and arts educators (visual, performing, and literary) from Chambersburg and the surrounding area to share their experience, expertise, and work at ArtsFest 2025. Appropriate events include a presentation/reading, performance, project, workshop/class, exhibition, immersive experience, or other types of arts-based events. 

Celebrate the Arts at Wilson College During ArtsFest 2024

Celebrate the arts at Wilson College as it hosts the second annual ArtsFest from April 1-5. The theme for this year’s event is “Art is…Transformation,” which highlights how art transforms human experience. ArtsFest is a week-long event that includes theatre and dance performances, a fashion show, open mic readings, and visual arts workshops. One highlight of the week will be a UNITY project, which will allow members of the community to help create a structure of intertwined yarn that will represent their interconnectedness. All events are free and open to the public.

Wilson College Student Spotlight: Jeremiah Carter-Johnson '23

Graphic design major, Jeremiah Carter-Johnson '23, served as a graphic art intern at Virginia Union University’s Intercollegiate Athletics and Community Wellness division. While there he developed promotional materials for the men’s and women’s basketball teams that were used on the internet, email, communications, and social media. It was a great experience that will serve him well as he embarks on his chosen career path.
