What is a Resident Assistant (RA) and what do they do?

As members of the Residence Life staff, these upper class students live in the residence halls and are responsible fore developing the residential community. RAs know a variety of campus resources and can assist residents with transition to campus living. They are available to answer student questions, to build community on their floor, to provide programs for the floor, to support students through friendship and referrals, and to ensure all members of the community are respecting community and campus policies.
