Monday, March 11, 2019 - 8 am Lenfest Learning Commons, John Stewart Memorial Library Dietary Restrictions: What Does This Mean? Julie Beck This presentation will explain dietary restrictions related to several health conditions as well as the cultural issues associated with them. It will focus on dietary recommendations from the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) along with discussion of various foods that are associated with gastrointestinal conditions and stem from cultural or ethnic traditions. Further discussion will provide the attendee with suggestions on how to live a healthier lifestyle through knowledge of how diet can influence healthy behaviors. Julie Beck has been a critical care nurse for the past thirty years. She has also taught nursing students, families and patients in the area of nutrition also for many years. She is an avid client advocate who tries to educate persons toward healthier lifestyles. She also has a daughter who has been diagnosed with gastrointestinal issues and required a specialty diet while attending her freshman year in college… and has a mother who loves butter!
