Current Graduate Assistant Brief Position Descriptions

Alumni Engagement / Annual Fund 
This position provides support to the overall work of the alumni relations office, as an integral part of Institutional Advancement, including collaboration with the Alumnae Association (AAWC) and varied campus partners. Hours may be flexible and include occasional nights or weekends. Reports to Director of Alumni Relations.

The Writing Center
This position provides support to the overall work of the Writing Center, contributing to student success in various courses. The duties below may be caried out on campus or remotely. Hours may be flexible and include occasional nights or weekends. Reports to Director of the Academic Success Center.

The Hankey Center for the History of Women’s Education
This position provides support to the overall work of the Hankey Center for the History of Women’s Education, contributing to various research projects and other initiatives for the Center. Hours may be flexible and include occasional nights or weekends. Reports to Director of the Hankey Center.

The Master of Fine Arts Program / The Arts at Wilson
This position provides support to the overall work of the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program specifically, and The Arts at Wilson in general, contributing to various research projects and other initiatives. Hours may be flexible and include occasional nights or weekends. Reports to the MFA Program Director.

Graduate Assistant Position Description in Residence Life
The Graduate Assistant (GA) is a 10-month, part-time, live-in position that reports to the Director of Residence Life (DRL). This position provides support to the overall work of Residence Life, contributing to various projects and initiatives for the department. The duties below will be carried out on campus. The successful candidate must be available to work 20-25 hours/week from August 1 through May 31, with night and weekend hours required, though weekly hours may vary based on the needs of the department. US students work 25 hours/week, while international students may work up to 20 hours per week while school is in session, and full-time when school is not in session.

In addition to tuition remission, this position also provides

  • Free Campus Housing (Graduate Assistant Apartment in Rosenkrans – housing does not include people other than the graduate assistant. Wilson College guest policies apply.)
  • Phoenix Meal Plan
  • Free Parking Pass
