Meet a student athlete at Wilson College. Jacob McCoy '26 is working on his education degree while playing on the men's volleyball team. 

Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Aaron Hoke ’19 shared, “Jacob comes to practice each day with a great attitude and work ethic. His growth as a player has been tremendous and that’s largely in part to how much effort he puts into practice every day. He leads by example.”

Student Spotlight: Charnea Worlds '24 TCP

Meet Charnea Worlds '24 Teacher Certification Pathways (TCP) Completer in Early Childhood Education. 

Charnea's practicum supervisor shares "Charnea is a gifted educator! Her classroom is safe and inclusive environment, where all students are encouraged to be curious and are challenged to be critical thinkers. She makes learning fun and keeps expectations high. As a result, Charnea’s students consistently achieve at high levels. Her ability to teach and inspire was further showcased as the student speaker at the TCP Completer Ceremony on May 4, 2024. With Charnea’s TCP Program completion, the field of education officially welcomes an inspiring educator!"

Faculty spotlight: Jeff Rock

The backbone of the Wilson College business program is its faculty. Jeff Rock, Education and Business Studies adjunct instructor has earned that description. “Professor Rock is so knowledgeable. He’s got experience in a lot of different areas. I mean, he is scary good at what he does. He also did a wonderful job in class by painting pictures of his experiences, real-life experiences, and tying them into the lessons,” said Kristen King ’22, who now works as a small business tax associate for a consulting firm. Student Spotlight: Katie Riley '24

During her time at Wilson College, Katie Riley '24 started a journey of hands-on learning as she began beekeeping at Fulton Center for Sustainability Studies right on campus. 

Katie shares "I have been able to learn in a community where I get to know my peers and professors while learning about things that interest me. Wilson College has exposed me to career paths and higher education that I never knew was possible for me."

Katie has just started a position as Summer Programs Assistant at Chincoteague Bay Field Station.

Stewardship of Watershed Ecosystems class studies outside the classroom

With an eye toward preserving one of our most precious natural resources, the Stewardship of Watershed Ecosystems class moved beyond the classroom walls and gained hands-on experience at locations such as the Chambersburg Water treatment plant and a study pond at Strawberry Hill.

MFA Summer Intensive 2024

The MFA students are on campus! Wilson's MFA program is unique as students work remotely for the majority of the year, but come together for a four week summer intensive. The time on campus consists of individual studio time with faculty mentoring and critique and in-depth exploration in all concentrations. 

For four weeks the students brought an energy of learning and discovery to campus during their annual summer intensive. From a curatorial project to a studio showcase to dramaturgs, the students were highly productive and created meaningful experiences they will take with them on their career journey.

Student Spotlight: Gregory Bamberger '23 TCP

Gregory Bamberger '23 TCP is a health and physical education teacher at Pocono Mountain School District, thanks to the Teacher Certification Program (TCP) at Wilson College. Gregory shared, "If it were not for the TCP program at Wilson college, I would not have been able to follow a dream I did not know I had. The TCP program allowed me the opportunity to become a fully certified teacher all while working in a school district and gaining the experience I needed to achieve my dream of becoming a health and physical education teacher. I am forever grateful for the pathways program and excited to begin this journey!
