Wilson at the Forefront of the Veterinary Nursing Initiative Posted on: May 13, 2022 Veterinary Nursing Wilson is one of the first colleges in Pennsylvania to adopt the new professional term “veterinary nurse” in place of the traditional “veterinary medical technician.” The movement to rename the profession is part of an initiative by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America to elevate the profession, improve career prospects, and create national standards for credentialing. Under the leadership of Tammy Ege, C.V.T., M.S., Associate Professor of Veterinary Nursing, Wilson was quick to embrace the initiative’s objectives and adopt the name change for both its graduates and the program itself. In an interview with “Keystone Veterinarian,” Ege spells out the importance of the decision for our veterinary nurses and their futures.
