Cybersecurity Faculty Image Tom Sarachan, M.F.A., J.D.Assistant Professor of Computer ScienceContact via emailTom Sarachan, M.F.A., J.D., is an assistant professor of computer science. He takes an applied approach to computer science and programming, inspired by his background as a game designer. Currently, his research focus is on incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into the classroom in ways that add to the student experience, rather than disconnecting students and their instructors. Sarachan oversees the computer science and cybersecurity programs, providing academic leadership and continuity across both disciplines. Students in these programs will take several of his courses, including Programming I and II, Web Development, and Digital Ethics.Prior to joining Wilson, Sarachan had a previous career as an attorney. While he no longer takes on private clients, his legal background informs his teaching about the ever-changing regulatory environment facing programmers and cybersecurity experts. Sarachan holds a Master of Fine Arts in game design from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (now Penn Carey Law).
