The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that computer science and information technology occupations are expected to grow by 23% between 2022 and 2032. In addition, BLS reports the median annual salary of computer scientists as $136,620, with a range of $78,190 for the lowest 10% of wage earners and more than $232,000 for the highest 10%. According to Glassdoor, the average base salary for a computer scientist in the U.S. is $151,508, with a range of $93,000 to $170,000, as of March 2024.
