Qualifications: Retired educators are prime candidates. Minimum qualifications include three years of teaching experience, at least a Master’s Degree in some area of education, and teacher certification.
 
Description: Experienced, passionate educators will mentor and supervise Wilson College student teachers, while also working in collaboration with Wilson College faculty and staff.  Collaboration and communicate with cooperating teachers is also required to nurture the growth and development of Wilson College student teachers during practicum placement.  The supervisor’s responsibilities include, attending virtual orientation, reviewing and responding to weekly reflections, conducting in-person classroom observations and providing feedback, completing mid-term/final evaluations, and conducting conferences with the Wilson College student teacher and cooperating teacher.  College supervisors must be available to visit schools on varying days through the week (though they may schedule observations around their other commitments) and respond to e-mail within 24 business hours. This is a semester appointment. Once approved, supervisors are placed on a list and used as needed depending on their certification. In most cases, supervisors are paired with students based on area of certification.

This position requires light to moderate travel to complete in-person classroom observations several times throughout the semester.  Proficiency with basic technology is also required.
